Instructions
Preparation
- Take the borboti or yard long beans and finely chop them in equal size. Prepare the mustard and poppy paste separately and keep it ready for the recipe.
Direction
- Take a kadhai or wok, add around 2 tbsp mustard oil and let it heat on medium flame. Add kala jeera and the dry red chillies and sauté it for a while. Now add the chopped onions and fry them until golden brown. Add the borboti to the kadhai, sprinkle a little salt on top and give all the ingredients a good stir. Now cover the lid and let it cook for around 2-3 minutes or until the borboti softens. Remove the lid and add, turmeric and red chilli powder, mix it well with the ingredients and add the poppy paste on top, sprinkle a little sugar, and mix all the ingredients well. Leave it cook for a couple of minutes, and add around ½ cup water, give another good stir and cover the lid. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes, until the gravy thickens and the raw smell of the poppy paste goes away. Remove the lid and add the mustard paste, stir all the ingredients well and leave it to cook for a couple of minutes. By now all your ingredients have cooked well, and have started to leave a beautiful aroma. Taste for the salt and sugar, and if required you can adjust the same here. When done, turn off the heat, drizzle some mustard oil on top and serve it with plain white rice. Your Bosboti Posto is ready, enjoy!
